International Cultural and Tourism Festivals and Fairs Organized Annually in Algeria:

Local Festivals:

Algerians celebrate a number of popular local festivals and events throughout the country every year. These social events occupy an important place in the present and memory of the inhabitants of each region. Among the most famous are:

  • “Tafsit” Festival – Tamanrasset:

In the Amazigh language, “Tafsit” means “spring”. The Hoggar people gather in Tamanrasset for three days to celebrate the arrival of spring in a festive and diverse atmosphere. Folkloric parades are organized in the main streets of the city, bringing joy to the inhabitants and foreigners who come in large numbers to participate in this festival. Traditional crafts occupy a place of choice. Fashion shows and beauty contests are also organized on this occasion to elect the “Queen of the Hoggar” and the best weaver in the region.
