Choose the season and route

Spring and autumn are generally comfortable across much of northern Algeria. Summer is suited to selected coastal plans but can be hot inland; winter can be ideal for the Sahara while bringing cooler nights. Match the route to the season instead of trying to cover the whole country at once.

Entry and transport

Verify visa rules, passport validity, insurance, and any invitation or supporting documents with the competent Algerian authority. Air Algérie, SNTF, intercity coaches, and local ride services can support different legs, but schedules and availability should be checked close to departure.

Money, equipment, and etiquette

Keep essential documents and backup copies secure, carry water and sun protection, and pack layers for desert nights or mountain weather. Dress and photograph with respect, ask before entering private or sacred spaces, and follow local and protected-area rules.

Verify Before You Travel

Requirements, schedules, prices, and access rules can change. Reconfirm official information before departure, especially for visas, remote routes, health services, and protected sites.
