The Hoggar National Park is located in the extreme south of Algeria, it is, with its 380,000 ha, the largest national park in Algeria.
Of invaluable archaeological and historical wealth, it is home to archaeological sites dating back 600,000 to 1 million years.
Established in 1987, Hoggar National Park includes:

  • The irregular plateau of the Atakor located 2000m above sea level.
  • A peripheral depression between 500 and 800 m altitude.
  • An outer belt of Tassilis sandstone or schistose.
