Who should verify a visa requirement?

Do not assume that advice for another nationality applies to you. Check the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassy or consulate serving your country of legal residence. Transit, tourism, business, family visits, and organised Saharan travel can require different supporting documents.

Typical application documents

Consulates commonly request a passport valid beyond the intended stay, application forms, photographs, proof of residence, travel insurance, accommodation or invitation evidence, and return or onward travel details. Exact lists, fees, processing times, and accepted payment methods are set by the responsible consulate and can change.

Travelling with children and special documents

Minors, dual nationals, diplomatic or service passport holders, and travellers born in Algeria may face additional documentation rules. Ask the consulate specifically rather than relying on a generic checklist.

At the border

Keep the address of your first accommodation and copies of important documents accessible. Entry remains subject to border control even when a visa has been issued. Respect customs rules and declare restricted or high-value items when required.

Verify Before You Travel

Travel requirements can change without notice. Verify current information directly with the nearest Algerian embassy or consulate before making travel arrangements.
